Hello, our names are Johannes Huwer and Amitabh Banerji and together we are the founders of the "AG Digitalisierung im Chemieunterricht" of the GDCh Fachgruppe Chemieunterricht. Information about our working group can be found in the drop-down menus further down on this page.
Prof. Dr Johannes Huwer,
University of Konstanz
Prof. Dr Amitabh Banerji,
University of Potsdam,
Please send your questions and suggestions about the AG and its activities to dice@go.gdch.de.
Digitalisation is currently not just a topic in Germany, but one of the most important issues of the 21st century worldwide. To ensure the visibility of the AG in the international environment, we have therefore opted for the English-language name "Digitalisation in Chemistry Eeducation". As the acronym dice can be formed from the four initial letters, our logo was born :-)
The general aim of this working group is to harness the potential of digitalisation and digitality for chemistry lessons.
At the inaugural meeting, suggestions were made for the following key areas of work with a focus on pupils and teachers:
1) Focus: Pupils ("K12")
This focus centres on the specific use of digital media in chemistry lessons with the four functions (learning tools, learning companions, experimental tools and learning objects).
2) Focus: Teachers ("High Ed")
This focus deals with the first, second and third training phases of chemistry teachers. The focus here is on promoting the digitalisation and digitality-related skills of students, trainee teachers and active teachers.
The AG DiCE was founded on 17 September 2019 at the 36th annual conference of the Fachgruppe Chemieunterricht in Aachen.
The members of the AG DiCE belong to various professional groups, including teachers, scientists and representatives from industry associations and foundations.
As of January 2021, we have 31 members. The image below provides an overview of our membership structure.
