In order to give interested chemistry students an insight into the field of computers in chemistry, a "Summer School on Cheminformatics" is usually organised every two years.
The Executive Board, which is elected for four years at a time, consists of the Chairperson, the Deputy Chairperson and at least one but no more than three assessors, whereby the universities and industry should be equally represented in the composition of the Executive Board. The Executive Board is supplemented by associate members who are appointed by the Executive Board. Young members are represented on the board by a YOUNG-CIC member.
The FG CIC regularly organises annual specialist group conferences and other events relating to the subject area.
