In recognition of special commitment to the Division Water Chemistry Society of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) the Division Executive Committee awards the badge of honour to selected personalities at irregular intervals. The award ceremony traditionally takes place during the annual conference WASSER.

On 26 May 2025, Dr Norbert Konradt was awarded the badge of honour at WASSER 2025:

"[...] in recognition of his many years of commitment to the Wasserchemische Gesellschaft. Based on his extensive expert knowledge, he has enriched the annual conferences with numerous valuable technical contributions. He showed how basic research can be transferred from the Water Chemistry Society to the practice of water supply and utilised there. His tireless commitment to the long-term financial support of the Wasserchemische Gesellschaft by Stadtwerke Düsseldorf, which is largely due to his work, deserves special mention. Such support is of fundamental importance for the success of our annual conferences."
