The Specialist Group "Freelance Chemists and Owners of Independent Laboratories" awards the Martin Heinrich Klaproth Prize. The award statutes regulate the details as follows:
§ 1 The Executive Board of the Professional Chemists and Owners of Independent Laboratories Division decides to award a prize of the Division under the name of the Martin Heinrich Klaproth Prize.
§ 2 The prize shall be awarded to colleagues for innovative independent work in the field of chemical freelance work.
§ 3 Members of the specialist group, university lecturers and heads of chemical laboratories are entitled to nominate candidates. The members of the executive committee of the specialist group form the jury. They decide by a simple majority of votes.
§ 4 The award includes a certificate that states the merits of the honouree. The prize money is set at 1000 euros.§ 5 The award winner reports on their work at the annual conference of the specialist group.
