The GDCh Biochemistry Division will present up to ten Meeting Awards for the first time in 2026 to support the participation of students and doctoral candidates in its Biochemistry symposium. Applications can be submitted in the form of an abstract for a conference contribution. Each award comes with prize money of 500 euros and a one-year free membership of the specialist group. A prize committee appointed by the specialist group board will decide on the award.

Objective
The Biochemistry Section of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) will present up to ten Meeting Awards for the year 2026 to support the participation of students and doctoral candidates in its Biochemistry 2026 conference, which will take place in Würzburg from 16 to 18 March 2026. Applications can be submitted in the form of an abstract for a conference contribution (poster or presentation).
The prize
Each award comes with prize money of 500 euros and a one-year free membership of the specialist group. The award winners will be invited to present their award-winning work in the form of a poster or short lecture at the GDCh Biochemistry 2026 conference, which will take place in Würzburg. The registration fee for participation in the conference will be paid by the Division. A prize committee appointed by the Division Executive Committee will decide on the awarding of the prize.
Application
The following documents must be submitted directly with the application: Abstract for a conference paper (one-page) and a short letter of motivation (one-page).
