Who we are - What we do

The GDCh Photochemistry Division was founded in Karlsruhe in 1971 and has around 400 members. Its aims in the field of photochemistry and its border areas are:

to promote the exchange of ideas among experts and to provide technical suggestions,

to maintain relations with corresponding organisations abroad,

to anchor or strengthen subject-related teaching in chemistry classes at universities,

to act as a link between industrial development and academic research and

to promote young scientists.

Current focal points of work
The field of work represented by the specialist group is interdisciplinary and includes sub-areas of inorganic, organic and physical chemistry. In addition to these classic topics, there are overarching focal points.
