The Quality Management and Food Industry working group focuses on the implementation of quality management systems in the production of food. It discusses and evaluates current developments from a scientific perspective and from the point of view of all parties involved in the food chain (food monitoring, food industry and service providers).

This concerns the relevant standards and food safety standards for the implementation and further development of food hygiene, avoidance of undesirable substances and good manufacturing practice (GMP) in the food chain.

The working group contributes its interdisciplinary expertise in terms of preventive consumer protection and focuses on practical considerations in the implementation of new requirements. It sees itself as an interdisciplinary working group that is in dialogue with the other working groups of the Food Chemistry Society.

The Quality Management and Food Industry working group was created following a resolution by the Board of the Food Chemistry Society at its meeting on 15 September 2019 in Dresden from the merger of the Quality Management & Hygiene working group and the Food Industry working group.
