The use of fossil fuels and the associated increase in greenhouse gas emissions is increasingly impacting our climate and threatening life on our planet. Switching away from fossil fuels in favour of renewable energies is therefore an essential prerequisite for securing our ecological and economic future. The lecture will briefly present the most important renewable energy sources and the technical principles and possibilities for energy storage.
